WELCOME

Formed by volunteers and parents who were active in the FIRST robotics competitions, AREA began its service in the state of Alaska in 2001 and received its IRS 501(c)(3) status in March 2002. This non-profit organization works to develop an interest in science and engineering within young people.

AREA introduces the exciting world of technology through robotics competitions.

AREA's 2009 FIRST LEGO LEAGUE RESULTS

Soldotna, AK - On Saturday, January 31st: Soldotna Montessori
hosted the Robotics Competition at the Soldotna Elementary School.

Anchorage, AK — On Saturday, January 17th, teams from around the state competed at Dimond High School in the Annual Alaska Robot Rendezvous, a statewide event for the FIRST Lego League (FLL). This competition was the culmination of weeks of hard work and mentorship by dedicated teams of volunteers.

ROBOTS RETURN TO CENTENNIAL HALL

Juneau, AK — Southeast Alaska’s 2nd Annual FIRST Lego League Tournament was held on Sunday, November 23rd. Fifteen teams from around Southeast Alaska competed in the 2nd Annual Juneau Robot Jamboree.
